For those experiencing the bug, does it only happen for you on startup (i.e. is
there any time that you are able to work with the GUI and then it locks up)?
Our experience, for the record:
1) It is *always* frozen on startup under Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha 6's GNOME
2) Using Fluxbox as the WM in the same distro, it is not frozen on startup,
however it has frozen on us one time in the middle of a project, but generally
has no issues
3) It is never frozen under any circumstance when run with root privilidges
(sudo cinelerra)
