You can convert your video to image sequence with
$ ffmpeg -i your_avchd somedir/fileprefix%04d.png

Then make framelist with some framelist generator. You can get my one:
http://akhil.nm.ru/tools/mkframelist
$ ls somedir/fileprefix*png | mkframelist > fileprefix.framelist

then you can use this framelist as any other footage
