Nope - don't know how it works. I've played with it, but did not know it would get the same exact thing I created. Actually, perhaps I did not explain the one transition I created too well. It is not a wipe like the shape wipe tool does. It slides in the new image (or slides out the old) from the top or bottom, much like the transition that slides in or out from either side. Based on what I have seen of the shape wipe (have not looked at the code yet mind you) I don't think it will do what I've done.

At any rate, before I go to far, I will work to understand the shapewipe better to be sure I don't reinvent the wheel.

Thanks,
Rob

So you don't know how ShapeWipe works?

ShapeWipe can do top-to-bottom wipes, checkerboard wipes, split from the
center or into the center and whatnot. You only have to create a suitable
gray-scale png. Look at the examples in $prefix/lib/cinelerra/shapewipe.

But, as Herman noted, it does have a few deficiencies. If you spend your time
on wipes, then its best invested in improving the ShapeWipe plugin.
