> Hey All - I am new to Cinelerra and a recent newcomer to Linux and am exc=
ited to see a program like Cinelerra out there. Video editing was the one l=
ast thing forcing me to keep one last windows box in the home. The one big =
thing I miss from premiere elements is the large number of video transition=
s, so I have decided to write some more, time permitting. Thus far, I have =
written one and tested it. My Someone suggested I send it to this list, and=
if there is enough interest, it might be checked back into the repository =
for distribution to the masses. So, my question is, is there interest out t=
here for some more video transitions, and if so, how do you all want me to =
submit to you?

Hi rob, I am mainly a strong Adobe CS3 user (also canopus edius when needed=
, and Digital Fusion, because work in a Matrox Reseller), and I love FLOSS=
 tools. I can`t code, i don`t know anything about writing a code, but i kno=
w a lot about what an editor needs, and what other editors (the-company-i-w=
ork`s clients), and I see that fancy transitions and templates helps the us=
ers (like hollywoodFX, softXplode, proDAD, etc...) so I have founded a proj=
ect to create artwork for NLEs and compositing softwares in linux, and we c=
ome very close to Open Movie Editor, and we expect to see our project imple=
mented soon there.

GVFX is a blender 3D file with many scenes (each one has transitions) so th=
e NLE tool will just ASK for a blender render, indicating the SCENE NAME an=
d the involved clips (with In/out points).
We know that this could take A LOT OF RENDERTIME, but that`s how hollywoodF=
X works, but if they still in the market is because the user wants that, s=
o I will try to replicate it in linux.

this is the project`s blog, you can download all the files:
http://gvfx.blogpot.com/

Other cool idea that i have suggested to Richard Spindler (which is somehow=
implemented in the new version) is using UV rendered blendermaps as DISTOR=
TION MAPS (like in SHAKE or DF+). OPEN Movie Editor (OME) doesn`t have (yet=
) a way to animate parameters, but whn it does, you will be able to animate=
the beggining and end of a clip`s effect to achieve a transition.

to know more of this:
http://www.openmovieeditor.org/board/viewtopic.php?id=3D839

if you are interested in cool 3D transitions we think there are ways of usi=
ng blender GAME ENGINE to make CLOSE-TO-REALTIME 3D transitions, for now, w=
e use the slow (but HIGHER QUALITY) default RENDERENGINE.
