My system: i386, Intel Mobile 945GM Integrated Graphics Controller xorg driver: intel 2.2.1 xserver: 1.4.1 Linux kernel: 2.6.24 (with Ubuntu patches) GNU libc: 2.7 Cinelerra: 2.1CV from akirad repository, compiled on 2008-02-23 Video: X11-XV Here are my findings on "to freeze or not to freeze" on KDE4: a) normal user: frozen after startup b) sudo: UI not frozen after startup load project/import media possible play possible _once_ resume play doesn't work; that is: the widgets still work, but the cursor in the timeline doesn't move or blink (call it forzen, if you want) and playback in the compositor doesn't start, not even sound only. Nothing.
